CLASS NUMBER: 4215-01 DESCRIPTION:ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANTS-

COVERAGE:

Stationary and portable, gasoline engine-driven, diesel engine-driven, gas turbine-driven and tractor-driven electric generators, associated accessories and controls (which may be separately located) and any load connecting devices (e.g. receptacles) which may be provided.

This category does not include electric generating plants for recreational vehicles or auxiliary electric generating plants for use in over highway vehicles (e.g. commercial trucks). See equipment list.

The requirements cover electrical safety only of the equipment.

NOTES:

  1. In the case of large electric-generating plants, the prime mover, generator and associated controls may be supplied separately for field assembly where the suitability of the final installation is to be determined by the local inspection authority.
  2. Portable electric-generating plants may be supplied without special purpose enclosures, for use in a weather protected area.
  3. Portable engine-driven electric-generating plants are for use only in a well ventilated area.
